I’ll tell you what distracted me the last time I went to the movies. The slob two seats down from me with the monster sized tub of popcorn CRUNCH CRUNCH CHRUNCHING for an hour. Took all my self control to not dump it on his head.

Most of the big chains already have a “theater mode” app, use it to silence your phone and get coupons for popcorn.

Because it doesn’t shutdown the phone, it just makes it run quietly and dimly. So people can use the phone to record the movie more surreptitiously. Yeah they talk about texting, but that’s just because they don’t want to accuse all Apple users of being bootleggers.
