Would the ammendment term limit lobbyists too? Otherwise K street gets more power and those guys aren’t subject to a vote.
It’s a good idea, but we should not bother trying over the next year. There are very big things that should be a priority now, and term limits are too unlikely to pass to bother with that fight.
‘Lyin Ted is trying to save face.
That's fine. Should push it, and let Congress kill it. Never suspecting it would or will ever pass Congress anyway....
But, what this does do, is renew emphasis on the need for Article V, for the states to initiate, outside of Congress, term limits, repeal 17th, etc. Congress going thru the motions just shows that Congress will never place limits on itself.
Actually, perhaps Congress might pass it, in concern for a looming Art V, with the thought to try to head it off.
Well, I haven’t much cared for Ted this past year either.
But I totally agree with this.
He has bad timing. I’d take him for the Supreme Court, both because he really is conservative and because he’s young enough to serve on the bench for several decades (with a bonus that President Trump gets rid of a US Senator who might try to mess with him to take over in 2020). Other than that, I’d like to see Senator Cruz take a low but supportive profile for a long time.
75% or more of Americans support term limits.
Let the D’s vote no on it and filibuster and obstruct.
Then let them explain it to the voters in 2018.
I think Ted Cruz is putting them in a neat little box. Especially the Senate D’s in states Trump WON.
Ted’s tilting at windmills again, striking another pose that never goes anywhere but endears him to his irascible fans.
I don't think Congress is that smart and we desperately need an Article V Convention/Convention of States regardless of what Congress does.
It’s called “strike while the iron is hot!”
Might be possible via a convention, but never possible if the fed house and senate vote on it. But it would be interesting to see who violently opposes Cruz’s idea.
It would be like the fox getting together to vote on banning eating chicken.
In this case, it gives the Chickens a chance to realize the craftiness of the foxes, so that the Chickens can more readily place limits on those foxes.
Sen Cruz wants relevance... Not, 2nd... heh heh
And on their pensions and other post-retirement perks.
Took over 30 posts for a snide remark about Cruz to appear...
If so, this should be an issue for a national referendum.
