Longtime Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum, who currently serves as a co-host of America's Newsroom, will host a new show in the 7 pm ET hour. The First 100 Days will focus on covering the new Trump administration. President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn into office on January 20 in Washington D.C.

Earlier today Fox News made the announcement Tucker Carlson, host of Tucker Carlson Tonight, will move to the 9 pm ET slot when Megyn Kelly makes her exit from The Kelly File on Friday for NBC News.

Even in peaceful times, I was not a fan of Martha, so she mostly elicits a yawn.
She is capable of snark, and viewing her snark will depend on which side of their audience FOX pays her to bring it.
Judge Jeanine would be excellent.

Trish Regan or a re-vamped Kennedy would have been a better choice.
I agree. GRETA at least had especially savvy guests, or news makers who were in-the-know officials. She let them shine and allowed them the space on her program to inform us, without sucking up the clock with rhetoric filled questions and without endless interruptions.
For a liberal, GRETA was fair and threaded the needle nicely without outright preaching her liberalism, in all those passive aggressive ways pundits use in rolling their eyes or mumbling an argumentative remark right before the break.
Trish and Kennedy both are better than MacCallum. They have a bit more charisma and definitely are bolder when it comes to interviews.
Lou Dobbs is a clone of Chris37! LOL! Chris will know what Lou is going to say before he says it. I, too, LOVE Lou!

You know the Murdoch sons would love to shift the network in that direction. Must have killed them to have to give Tucker the spotlight for the ratings.
I don’t want to watch her in large part because I don’t want her ratings to give the Murdochs the message that they can slip more liberal shows in on us without losing their viewership.
We already have a hundred networks giving Trump the sneer.

At the pace that Mr. Trump moves, there may not be anything left to report after Day 30.

Martha is fine, but I agree with others that her debate skills are lacking. She covered some of the Trump rallies and seemed to thoughourly enjoy sharing in the excitement.
Kennedy is a given. She will end up with a plum spot on Fox. Very quick witted, completely in tune with the Gen X/Millennial crowd but right now half of the Fox prime time demo wouldn’t have clue what she is talking about.
She’s definitely a lib.
I remember when I was in the hospital bed after my heart attack, Trump was going to do his appearance where he was going to comment on Obama’s fake birth certificate.
Martha was chomping at the bit prior to it with O’Reilly about what was trump going to say to reveal himself as a birther, and this went on for at least an hour. Then it finally started, and he did what he did, and she was just furious!
It was HILARIOUS :D
Anywho, I can and will live without Martha.

I don’t watch TV and don’t have TV programming, preferring to watch internet streaming vids and embeds. Occasionally, I’ll see a newscast that way.
From my occasional sampling of news, I would say definitely, emphatically Katrina Pearson!!!
Other well-knowns would be Greta Van Susteren, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter.
Others may be good But I am not sure. There are plenty of smart women who I know could rise to national news but it seems the national news has been trying to sell sexiness via their female news staff.
But back to Katrina Pearson, she and Tucker Carlson share attributes in common.
I’ve been watching vids and embeds of Tucker recently because he’s in the news. I am impressed at how he slices and dices leftists. I can see him working extraordinarily hard and thinking fast on his feet in anticipation of the moves of his leftist guests.
But Tucker is not a conservative per se!
He appears to be conservative because he slays progressives on his show. And he does it after giving them an opportunity to explain themselves. And when they can’t answer his reasonable objective questions, they resort to name-calling, defensive maneuvers, distraction, and Tucker moves to pin them on the original questions they would not answer.
But Tucker would do the same to a guest who is considered or labeled conservative. For example, John McCain calls himself a conservative. John McCain is a liar. True conservatives do not lie (except in a hot war). Therefore, McCain is not a conservative. Tucker would in a respectful way expose McCain’s hypocrisy, his liar nature. Does that make Tucker a liberal?
It is the same with Katrina Pearson. She slices and dices the most vile liars of the left. But she is not necessarily a conservative. She would do the same to those professing to be conservative.
I don’t want to see newscasters who are liberal or conservative. I want to see them as prosecuting trial attorneys who cleverly get key testimony from their guests, testimony which either exposes them as conniving liars or acquits them as coming clean.
Ann Coulter could perhaps conjure a must-see TV show. Someone willing to simply state the truth is very compelling right now.
I agree. She was firmly in the RINO camp during the primaries and hasn't been much better since the election.
