elections carry with them term limits... limit the control of their salaries and benefits to the state legislatures and we will see a sea change of the type of members serving.

Make a law that there service in congress or a senator will not entitle them to a retirement pension. See how many stay in office. Give them a flat salaries paid by the state they represent. They can only get a pay raise if the voters of the state OKs it. If they buy a home that is not in their elected state. Then they are no longer a resident of the state and disqualified to represent the elected state ever again. Every 90 days they must spent 30 days consultative in their home state. Must be available for input from the voters. If they don't like this TUFF. We have a all volunteer military that has hardships greater then above. But they freely enlist for military service without question.
