What is also left unsaid is that the insurance of those people who have pre-conditions is being mostly paid for by the taxpayer.

Libs don’t have a problem with that...at all. Any that I’ve read about/been around, that is.
“...the insurance of those people who have pre-conditions is being mostly paid for by the taxpayer.”
That’s the problem with health care right there - insurance. Insurance hides the true cost of health care. People who have insurance don’t care about the cost of health care. If health care costs are paid out of the patient’s pocket, people will care a whole lot about health costs. Health care costs need to be prominently posted in every hospital, clinic and doctors’ office. That is the best free market solution to reduce health care costs.
Well, shoot, one can be an average income family of 3 or 4, with no preconditions, and the subsidy will pay 90% of the premium. Strictly speaking, under this system, it has to, as there’s no way that average family can afford the premiums.
The system is TOTALLY out of whack, and that’s not even considering the issue of care itself, which is going into the toilet, too.
