If she’s a “top Republican,” Alan Grayson is a “top Democrat.”

Alan Grayson beats his wife.

And eats paste.

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/08/politics/christine-todd-whitman-donald-trump-hillary-clinton/

> Ex-GOP gov Whitman says she’s backing Clinton

> (CNN)Hillary Clinton picked up another Republican endorsement on Saturday when Christine Todd Whitman, the former governor of New Jersey, endorsed the former secretary of state.

...

> Whitman has also compared Trump to Adolf Hitler.

> “It is no longer a stretch to compare Donald Trump ... to some of the worst dictators in history,” Whitman wrote in December in the wake of Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from the US. “Trump especially is employing the kind of hateful rhetoric and exploiting the insecurities of this nation, in much the same way that allowed Hitler and Mussolini to rise to power in the lead-up to World War II. The parallels are chilling.”

I hope so, too.

1. Christine Todd Whitman should be remembered as a liberal New Jersey malcontent who endorsed Hillary Clinton in a public statement in which she admitted that a Clinton presidency would result in a continuation of the "failed policies" of Barack Obama.

2. Whitman will also go down in history as the EPA chief -- with no professional expertise in environmental matters, mind you -- who insisted after 9/11 that the air at Ground Zero was safe for people to breathe.

Donald Trump would do well to consign this dingbat to the dustbin of history alongside Hillary Clinton.

Christine Todd Whitman was never above a middling Republican official and that was over ten years ago.

1999: In 1999, Whitman fired Colonel Carl A. Williams, head of the New Jersey State Police, after he was quoted as saying that cocaine and marijuana traffickers were often members of minority groups, while the methamphetamine trade was controlled primarily by white biker gangs.

Whitman is a loon, hardly a “top republican”.

It's My Party, Too (New York: Penguin, 2005)
The Republican party is embroiled in a heated and high-stakes battle between its far-right and moderate wings-with conservatives declaring open warfare on the moderates who ask themselves "Whatever happened to the party of Lincoln?" Bearing profound implications not only for the future of the party but also for the future of American politics, this momentous battle will rage on no matter what the outcome of the presidential election.

Christine Todd Whitman retired as a member of the Bush administration in June 2003, tired of the ideological battles in Washington and eager to return home to New Jersey. A lifelong and loyal Republican and a leader of the party's moderate wing, she is a passionate believer in the power of the "productive middle" in politics. In the tradition of Democratic Senator Zell Miller's national bestseller A National Party No More, which critiqued the Democratic party's move to the far left, in It's My Party Too she offers a passionate and revealing insider's argument against the hijacking of her party by zealous "social fundamentalists." Recounting many stories from the front lines of her own battles, both as a two-term New Jersey governor and on the hot seat as EPA administrator, she takes readers inside the tumultuous world of our politics today to reveal how a moderate approach can work wonders while that of extremists only leads to more division and fewer solutions.

Relentlessly pushing their ideological stances on abortion rights, race relations, the environment, tax policy, and go-it-alone foreign policy, the conservative extremists are not only violating traditional Republican principles, she argues, but are also holding the party back from achieving a true majority. By playing so slavishly to the far-right base, running negative campaigns and marginalizing women, the party has forsaken the much broader base that propelled the "Reagan revolution" and has fueled the country's overheated polarization.

Writing with the straight-talking and keenly intelligent candor that launched her onto the national stage-and made her such an inspiration to women all around the country-Christie Whitman sounds a rallying cry that will be vital reading for the millions of moderate voters who are fed up with the extremism of both parties. From one of the leading moderates in the Republican party-and one of its most powerful women-a thoughtful and provocative critique of the party's hard turn to the right and a call to arms for a return to its moderate roots.

From Worldcat.

In the 70’s they were warning about the horrible ICE age we were going to be living in now. Hmmmmm now we have global warming. Is there really people so stupid they think that how the weather was when they were young is how it is always supposed to be? I mean look in a mirror, how has that worked out for anyone?
Pick up a book, talk to the elderly, stop drinking the kool-aide. How can they be so flipping dumb. Makes me sad.

In the mean time, these wreckless assholes (yes, you read that right), have no qualms whatsoever with selling coal, oil, and natural gas to third-world shitholes and communist/socialist regimes who could care less about protecting the “environment”, all in the name of turning a profit.

And no, I’m not a tree/bunny hugger by any stretch.

Growing up in a factory town six blocks away from a major foundry puts things into perspective for those who live downwind.

Leave it to the BBC to trot out a self-admitted Klintonista, call it a top Republican and then spew fake news as if it’s fact. They really compete with some of the planet’s most disgusting serial liars.

Someone who has been persona non grata in the GOP for over a decade is most definitely NOT a “top Republican”.

You should be worried about how the children in the south east are going to get to school in 12 inches of snow. And of course handle the intense cold that is following this next storm.
