Great way to get around this, eat at home, better food ...
A waitress at a popular breakfast haunt confided in me that the owner soaked his potatoes in butter, along with the steaks and nearly everything else so it would taste better.
You never know what is on your plate. Restaurant food should be avoided.

Eating at home, I don’t have to worry that the cook may have spit on my food, plus I’m also allowed to pat the cooks butt if I want to.
(Behavior that would get me tossed out of most restaurants.)
A restaurant that we (used to) like to frequent, in NYC, went to a ‘No tipping’ policy, recently. They decided that ALL staff should make the same hourly rate.
They, of course, raised their prices, overall, to accommodate this change.
The last time we were there, we noticed a definite downturn in what was once exemplary service. We didn’t appreciate paying more...for much LESS service.
Needless to say....we WON’T be returning, any time soon.
