To a certain extent, we witnessed history. Thus began the active combat role in the Middle East for the USA. Here’s what that day brought. Think about the failures we made as well as the triumphs:

—Because we didn’t finish off Saddam, we had to station our Air Force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

—The Mujahadeen we supported in Afghanistan against the Soviets transformed into the Taliban.

—The Mujahadeeni Bin Laden started railing against the USA for having troops in the Muslim “Holy Land”.

—Bin Laden started “The Base”, or Al Qaeda, to attack us via terrorism and small attacks as he had learned in Afghanistan.

—Al Qaeda attacked innocent New York and Washington on a beautiful day in September 2001.

—We invade first Afghanistan and then Iraq to stop Muslim and Iraqi terrorism.

—We Abandoned Iraq under Obama which led directly to ISIS.

—At the same time, we tried to help terrorists take control of Egypt, Libya, and Syria. Egypt righted itself, Qaddafi died, leading to Benghazi, and Syria led to the Muslim takeover of Western Europe.

—Syria invites Russian forces in to fight USA-supported terrorists attacking government.

—USA looks like pussies compared to Russians; Obama/Clinton rails against Russians; Trump wins.

A line of related events largely sparked to life when Carter allowed Khomeni to drive the Shah out of Iran. Thanks, Jimmuh.

I remember that! I was stationed at Cape Cod AFS. I was at some friends house halfway to Boston, and we were watching the New England Patriots came. The news came on saying the American Embassy had been invaded and all the people taken hostage. I got up to leave, telling my friends thanks for a fun day.

They said, “Wait! It’s not even half time!”

I replied. “Well, it looks like we’re at war. I’ve got to report to my unit.”

So I drove home, put on my uniform, and went to the radar station. Crickets.

I really thought it would be like Pearl Harbor. But Jimmy ordered nothing. The next several months was one humiliation after another. Human rights. Yeah, right.

Looking back, it turned out that the Ayatollahs were much worse on Human Rights than the Shah! With the Shah, thousands died. With the Ayatollahs, millions!

Carter was/is a fool.
