A few things I don't understand... 1. He was in the run living in the slums of Hong Kong. Who are these people? I see that HK makes protesters list their organization. The group is this called "Socialist Action.". Who the heck are they and why are Socialists protesting surveillance? 2. Snowden is on the run, GGW and Poitras come to his aid? Seems like Kabuki theater but maybe I'm wrong there. How did they find him but US Intel did not find him? Think about that one. 3. Why did he only release "NSA is watching you" through your calls and financial transactions etc etc. He had no releases about deaths and disappearances. I'm just asking what I think are legitimate questions. USA Families that have had actual physical harm done to them may be asking the same questions... Why were his releases only about PRISM and metadata and spying, but not about harmful operations. My main question is how did GGW find him but US Intel did not find him.

He managed to make it through because it’s likely he gave the Chinese a nice large chunk of information that they are able to work with to work against our government’s interests (all governments on the planet work against each other of course). Realistically, the Chinese knew who he was and what he was up to. He certainly wasn’t unknown to the higher ups and he was certainly not at all able to avoid being stopped in a Chinese airport. No one in China would have let him pass through to asylum in Russia if not for the fact that he was giving them something substantial in return. If he had not, the Chinese would have turned Snowden to the US government ASAP.
