Note to liberals who lurk here:
Anthony Bourdain is completely and totally wrong. Hillary’s mistake was not gushing over Obama enough, not raving about how wonderful it is to kill coal jobs, how much she likes allowing anyone who feels like it to use any public restroom they want, and how much she approves of using the government as a hammer to crush those who refuse to bow down to gay “marriage” and every other liberal cause on demand. The best course now would be to keep Obama and Hillary front and center as the face of the democrat party. Big government liberalism is the true image of progressives, and the truth will set us free.
Bourdain’s point is that the mainstay of the Democratic Party (roughly half of the voters) were regular working-class-middle-class individuals. And for at least two decades (maybe longer), they were simply cast aside and not courted like all the other ‘special’ groups. So a percentage of this group...maybe 10-percent or more...just walked away.
If Trump does bring jobs and economic growth, this group will permanently stay, and won’t return back to the Democrats.
I wouldn’t worry, the Democrats will sit for at least a decade trying to figure out the Trump magic, and never once try to center their whole program on the middle-class.
