It's ironic that Drexel U (formally Drexel Institute of Technology) actually has a great education model. They use the 5 year co-op program to get their students into industry and give them a means to pay their tuition. The emphasis was on education AND real world experience and anybody with the ability could get a college education.
It's a shame that leftists soil everthing and create nothing.

A five year program is too long in today’s work environment. Bachelor’s degrees need to be cut to three years, Master’s four years and associate degrees 1-2 years.
I spent 45 years in higher education and those changes are easily accomplished without sacrifice to students. Focus on real core of each degree, sty or go back to quarter system, Semester was only to lower the workload of faculty.
