I think there is a difference.
The bakers didn’t refuse to bake cakes for homosexuals. They refused to bake a “wedding” cake for homosexuals.
So, the bakers aren’t anti-cake for them, just anti-WEDDING.
Unless these people are AGAINST Trump voters *eating* at all, they have no case. The move this cafe is making is on parallel with a baker saying they won’t bake ANYTHING for a homosexual.

Political affiliation is not a protected class, so discrimination against them is not illegal.
Liberal establishments that do custom work (like cake decorating ), should be inundated with orders for “We Love Trump” or similar.
Legally, discrimination against certain sexual classes is illegal. Political classes are not protected.
