WPVI ^ | 27 Dec 2016

I thought many would appreciate this disabled vet giving back to his community, as though he had to, with his wheelchair snow plow.

Thank you for the post. The phrase “giving back” bothers me. The man never took anything, never stole anything to “give back.” A better term would be “presented” or “worked to create.” Just a small beef with that term.

“Every snowfall since, he heads outside and clears the way.

Anderson wants to make sure passers-by, and especially students can walk through the neighborhood safely.

He says he’s happy to help clear the snow, since his community has been so supportive of his medical struggles.”

Sounds like a good guy and a good neighbor.

When life served him lemons, he made lemonade.

An American story as American as Apple pie.

Gave an Afghan vet a lift home this afternoon, it was 20f. A young lady that worked on tanks in the sandbox, her car was down with a bad alternator, was ready to walk 15 miles home.

Going to give her, i think, one of my older motorcycles this spring, i don’t need it, either the 1980 cx500 or the 83 cx650, i own Goldwings now.She has an offbrand Yamaha copy right now, but its winter here in Alaska, no bike riding.

And i could use a mechanics helper working at my shop, its seasonally closed right now but if she wants i’ll hire her come startup around april.

An Iraq war veteran in Nebraska has created his own, one of a kind wheelchair snow plow.

Last year, Justin Anderson of Bellevue took his off-road wheelchair and put a snow blade on it.

Every snowfall since, he heads outside and clears the way.

Anderson wants to make sure passers-by, and especially students can walk through the neighborhood safely.

He says he's happy to help clear the snow, since his community has been so supportive of his medical struggles.

I interpret it differently, as sharing what we've been given in the form of freedom and opportunity with those who come after us or who maybe missed out on or mishandled the first time around.
