Only a few years older than I am now. I best prepare my soul. I’ve done what I can. I would like more time than that.
If God wants you. He’s going to take you. All you can do is prepare your soul and find salvation.

The creativity was muted. Pop music transformed into electronic keyboard crescendos in every verse and Rock devolved into crap like : Def Leppard, Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, Scorpions, Europe, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Poison, Dokken, Whitesnake, and Cinderella.
Eh, compared to today's pop, 80s pop was a time of pure genius. Sure, there was a lot of crap, but that's only because the record labels were trying to cash in on the new music scene as fast as they could, promoting mediocre clones at will. However, the electronic sound, as a new art form, was explored rather thoroughly in the 80s and a lot, A LOT, of good stuff was made. Like I said, compared to the computer-written pop/rap junk now, the 80s was the Rennaissance.
As for the rock bands, the Scorpions don't deserve to be on your list of lame hair bands. Def Leppard, for their first two albums or so before they sold out (or the drummer lost an arm) , also were very good. The rest are essentially one-hit wonders.

In Charlie Sheen’s interview, they said if he missed just one day of pills, it could allow AIDS to advance. They said it was a concern for him due to alcohol or drug use messing up his judgment for staying on the regimen. Certainly could’ve been a problem for George too.

I wish more Christians had the Christlike attitude that you have expressed.
I wasn’t a fan, but it seems I remember a song he did with something about Jesus in it that was pretty.
May every believer in Christ always remember that whenever a lost person dies, not even God Himself, takes pleasure in their death...
“Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?” (Ezekiel 18:23)

That’s exactly what the leftist establishment wants you to believe...that homosexuals are victims of discrimination and bigotry. Total nonsense in this country in this day and age. Even if there was discrimination, there is no link between that and substance abuse...certainly never once have I heard people claim blacks abuse more substances because they’re victims of discrimination, even though they constantly claim they are victims of discrimination.
What you have here tend to be troubled people who in all fairness may have been victims of sexual abuse at a young age. The homosexuality as well as the substance abuse are all products of a disordered, neurotic mind and unresolved psychological issues.
In some cases, maybe you can write it off as complete hedonism, in which case the people will seek it through sex, drugs, alcohol and anything else. A heterosexual lifestyle demands a lot more personal responsibility by the nature of the sexes. The shortest and easiest route to a hedonistic sexual lifestyle, unless you’re Brad Pitt, is a homosexual lifestyle.

but if it were, we would expect a marked decrease in such pathologies among homosexuals in the West in the last twenty years due to the relaxation of any such stigmas, and even the promotion of homosexuality as normal. As far as I know, there is no such decrease, even in the age of “gay marriage”.
Well “as far as you know” is not evidence supporting your claim regarding destructive behavior by homosexuals. I know many gay people from the 80s and present day and from my observations, WAY LESS DRUG USE and HAPPIER PEOPLE today compared to the 80s...

Totally forgot about Sheen. What a mess he made of his life with drugs and booze.

Those who willfully engage in homosexual culture tend to get sick and die earlier than their heterosexual counterparts. It's fact. If the media, psychologists, and health care providers would do their jobs and warn the population of these risks (instead of beating up on the Church) there would be less heartbreak over these meaningless deaths.

Interfering, I loved the variety of 80s music. For me it all ended when gangsta crap got popular and I tuned out. Having a circle of South American friends and family I got into that music and never came back.
So 80s music was the last decade of American music I am able to identify with. Still love it.

So you answer his "as far as you know" evidence with that of your own? Unconvincing.
There is no way male homosexuals could do what they do to each other without some significant degree of disgust and self-loathing, thus the frequently drunken, drugged-up, and anonymous nature of their assignations. They also rationalize the pangs of their conscience by blaming the approbation of "society."

He was just relaxing and “Wham!”

After seeing the final photos of a very heavy and bloated George Michael, I may have to revise my initial thought that he probably died from AIDS.
He was pretty heavy.
Sad.

“Careless Whisper” is about the only Wham! song that I like that much. I totally dig the sax solo, as I love many sax solos.
