What they are really worried about is the fact that you are doing something without their permission.
Exactly, that is what it all comes down to. People determine all the time whether they want a tree, lights, and what kind of paper. Personally, I have no Christmas lights, no tree this year, and typically I use newspaper or a Walmart sack to hold a gift. None of this for me has anything to do with environmental sensitivity. But, libs can’t let you decide, it is just not in them for people to be free.
