MILAN, Dec 23 (Reuters) - The suspect in the Berlin Christmas market truck attack was killed in a pre-dawn shoot-out with police in a suburb of the northern Italian city of Milan on Friday, Italy's interior minister said. "The man killed was without a shadow of doubt Anis Amri," Marco Minniti said, referring to the 24-year-old Tunisian who is suspected of driving the truck that smashed through a Berlin market on Monday killing 12 people. Minniti told reporters that Amri was stopped by two policemen at around 3 a.m. (0200 GMT) in front of the Sesto San Giovanni train station, north of Milan.

I was in Italy for six weeks this past summer. I asked one of my hosts why Italy has not had the sort of terrorist attacks that the Germans and French seem to suffer. My host said, “believe it or not” the Italian security apparatus is much more sophisticated than their neighbors to the north. More importantly, the Italians are much less politically correct.
That is, if you look like a possible terrorist, you will be stopped. More importantly, if you don’t look suspicious, they will not go through the politically correct motions, and resource wasting exercise of checking your documents and asking questions. In short, they use common sense.
As an American, and pretty American looking at that, I was never stopped, or hassled going through Airport security (multiple times) or tourist security check points (ie. the Vatican.) They had the common sense to see I was not a threat, just by looking at me, and were happy to wave me through.
I would say they even went out of their way to not delay my travels. In the US, the DHS agents randomly pull old ladies and people like myself to check bags for explosives, or empty shampoo bottles, even though we are clearly not Muslim. In Italy, the Airport Security Agents didn’t waste their time or my time and would probably be reprimanded for annoying an American like me and creating a bunch of unnecessary paper work.
Ok.. well that’s somewhat true. I think the banned woman was rude, but maybe just speaking the truth out loud sounds crude to me. Too many years of being part of the silent majority.
There are no checkpoints. There can be a random check, but the only time I have seen it was when driving from Netherlands to Germany. That was probably because weed is legal in Netherlands and not in Germany. Probably also during the big soccer games as some notorious hooligans have temporary entry bans during these.
Someone needs to turn a spotlight on that shadow.
According to the Norwegian Broadcasting Service. Amri was stopped for speeding and as the officers approached the car he started shooting at them and they returned fire albeit injured themselves.
If you are in a Schengen country and go to another Schengen country no border controls. UK is not a Schengen country.
Im not celebrating much. The civilized world is losing and in days it will be business as usual.
Meanwhile, the importation of millions of Sharia-ists continues throughout Europe and America (though its still “only” thousands here).
Nobody’s pissed off enough yet for them to go that far, but they will be eventually.
Finger prints most likely as he had a previous record. What would be interesting to know is if he had another set of ID on him, as in a different ID. If that was the case then he would have had help
He was in a mosque for a period of time and could have had acquired new papers, cash etc.
