Spicer is BTW a Priebus guy from the RNC—the one who has done the bad deals with networks re: presidential debate moderators, etc. Any of the women under consideration would have been much better. But there may be other calculations that have gone into this.
Sean Spicer is military. He’s a public affairs officer in the Navy, so there’s a military connection, too.
