You think an assassination attempt has been made and covered up?
1. The political parties need to do more to ensure that their nominee picks their Electors. That way if the Elector goes rogue then the blame can be put on the nominee.
2. The Electors in any given State should be allowed to dismiss a fellow Elector in case the Elector is “faithless” & then replace their vote with an alternate Elector of their choosing. For example, Wyoming has 3 Electors. If one of them had voted for Clinton then the other two could then dismiss them and replace them with someone else to vote for Trump.
3. Surety bond of some amount should be mandatory. Is 100K the right amount? Maybe?
4. If someone decides “I cannot in good faith vote as I’m expected” then they should be free to resign before the Electoral College vote and be replaced by an alternate pre-selected by the Party & their nominee.
5. Long live the Constitution!! Long live the Electoral College :)

My fear is how close it was in Texas. 800,000 might sound like a lot, but I fear that most Democrat voters are Hispanic and the Hispanic population is exploding in Texas. I could be wrong.

I’m stuck in liberal kalifornia and all I could do was donate what little money I had to the Trump campaign. The rest of our great nation carried the massive weight to elect Donald Trump and I thank you each and every one!

Then that defeats the purpose of this setup, which is to allow the electors to go rogue in order to keep a “lunatic” that voters elected from taking office.
Think about how crazy that is. After a two year campaign voters millions of electors are so bamboozled that they elect someone that is so incredibly unfit that electors of his party would actually vote against the will of the electorate.
It’s totally preposterous, and it leave open the very possibility of one or two rogue electors overturning a close election.
Again, the electors voting is a very unnecessary step.
