I am not of that opinion.

The valve cover is very wide (top to bottom). Something you’d see on a 427 or some other big block. I’d see valve covers on 427/454’s (admittedly in the 1970’s) like that.

I’m not sure what it could be (back then).

Certainly doesn’t have the shape of a 409 if memory serves.

BTW that was “no offense intended”.

I had an ‘86 Corvette. I always thought it was an L98 but apparently it was an L83 (350).

It had much more narrow valve covers. Only Chevy I had. I’m trying to remember what V-8 was in the GMC truck I had for a while (mid 1960’s). Big block I think. Been too long on that one, too. Only had it a year or two in the early 1980’s.

It is likely a BBC ,,definitely not a SBC because of the evenly spaced exhaust ports.. not a clear enough photo .. but the dual quads say big block to me. Fords have a front mount distributor and this is a rear mount.

im thinking Chrysler 440 with 2 4bbls. its not a hemi. my dad had one in a Chrysler 300 back in the day.
