Well, even with that the Wehrmacht performed five envelopment maneuvers the size of the invasion of France between June and November 1941, killing or capturing about 3.5 million Red Army soldiers.
After that, the Germans just didn't think the Soviet Union would be able to offer much resistance as they reached the end of their logistics train. They just seriously underestimated how quickly Stalin could replace the soldiers he lost.

An uprising in Yugoslavia delayed for several weeks Hitler’s invasion of the USSR. His mad notion of conquering a nation eleven time zones wide didn’t help, either.
