I've always thought a handheld flip sign with a number of pre-printed messages would be handy.
Just scroll through the messages until you see the one you want and hold it up so the other driver can see it.

Waaaay back in the early 1980’s I purchased exactly this. It was called a “Hi Sign” and was basically just like your graphic. It contained a couple dozen different signs spiral bound together. You flipped to the one you wanted and showed it to other drivers. We had a blast with it on a drive out to western ND.
Lazamataz could use that one!
