I’m not sure. I thought I heard that he’ll get the pension of Lt. Col. That does add to the sting of the demotion. After all, if Bergdahl is found guilty and demoted to private, I doubt he’d get any benefits due to a sergeant.
Bergdahl will never qualify for retirement. Time in the stockade does not count.
