The Army general fired after an investigation into his swinger lifestyle has suffered a major demotion as a result of his indiscretions.

Indeed...usually for dims this is a resume enhancer.
Whoa, Maj. Gen down to Lt. Col! I’ve never heard of such a demotion. It’s a big deal, almost arbitrary in its severity. He might as well get out as soon as he can, because his military career is essentially over.
Hard to follow this. Last Honorable Rank as LTC is a bit of a stretch.
One of the worst areas of confusion and one of the most damaging problems in the military has to do with the belief that military guys should be allowed some sort of sexual privilege and that it is a necessary part of their ability to fight.
Quite the contrary-the strongest and best fighters are those with the most self-control.
And remember, sex is a very powerful weapon used against us by our enemies.
I met a former Major that was RIF and took the next three years as a T/Sgt. because his retirement would be that of a Major.
It’s rightfully assumed that any man who will betray his wife and mother of his children is so morally bankrupt that he won’t hesitate to also betray his comrades and his country.
If held rank for two years that is the pay rate he retires at. Unless he committed a felony.
Question for those who might know. Is retirement pay based on rank at retirement, or is it like civilian pay, and based on ‘high three’ or some other such formula. (In other words, is this for show, or will he really take a big hit?)
I don’t disagree with what you say. But clearly there are issues in the area of sex. For example, a stunning number of female sailors become pregnant on board ship. What I don’t know is if anyone is ever held accountable for these incidents.
Another issue is military women claiming sex assaults. They tell stories of how they travel in pairs, using a buddy system, when on military installations. This shocks me that women would be fearful of their fellow military members. I don’t know if these stories are true but if so, again, is anyone held accountable?
Regarding women becoming pregnant, its obvious that there is a breach, because as I understand , sexual activity even if consensual, is against military regulations.
The answer is a return to traditional moral behavior guided by the same traditional moral values.
Will improve fitness of military. Better outcomes for individual lives.
Rank.
highest rank attained?...Yes.
I find that preposterous , and I challenge anyone to show one scintilla of evidence that that is the case.
Its rightfully assumed that any man who will betray his wife and mother of his children is so morally bankrupt that he wont hesitate to also betray his comrades and his country.....Hello? Bill Clinton?
By "return", you obviously think there was such a time when " traditional moral behavior guided by the same traditional moral values" made the sort of thing we are discussing on this thread impossible. When, in your mind, was this time. ? Give me a range of years.
I’m referencing the fact that moral behavior has changed drastically in the past 50-100 years, to give a rough number.
The precise time scale is not as important as is the acknowledgment that such a drastic change in societal norms, and societal constraints, has occurred.
High ranking officers cheated on their wives a century ago, and if the military had been co-ed 50-100 years ago there would have been rape and pregnancy too. Moral behavior has not changed.
