I can see him doing that, at least trying to angle his way into that position. The thing is I don’t know who would be his “advocate”. There are plenty of “needy” third world diplomats to compete with. Also I think by “tradition” its normally someone from the “unaligned” world. (Yes the outgoing Korean guy is a break from that!) Anyway the position I believe has been filled, the Korean guy just left!

JMHO, Laz has it nailed.

...and as far as the fairly recent Change of Command at the UN, when did anything keep The 0 from getting whatever he happened to want? (With the possible exception of having his desired Chicago Olympic Games deal tossed out)

However.....

Between screwing up the Clintons' Big Scam, wrecking the Democrat party and costing all those big donors all those ill-gotten dollars/ruan/pesos/euros, just exactly who (outside of our MSM, who now have their own troubles to consider and may therefore sit out his future ploys as well) isn't going to think that The 0 isn't more trouble than he's worth and avoid him like a plague rat.

It may be that he may plan on all this grandeur but do a great big face plant with reality about a month after he gets moved outta the WH and wind up slipping back to Hawaii (or someplace else where he can feel important) and just fade out of our lives forever.

Might be a faint hope, but it couldn't happen to a more deserving SOB.
