“media” is plural therefore “are.
medium is the singular.

Yeah, for some reason it’s been a difficult rule for me to remember - I think because most people seem to tend to use the singular in most cases.
The Brits use “are” for a word that would signify a group,or plural.
Ex:-—The parliament are in session-——The senate are in session etc.
I find that interesting.
