If you’re old enough to remember what genuine chemical waste pollution was like back in the 1960’s you’d know that when the EPA was created there was a need for a federal agency. The States on their own could not handle the problem. But almost as soon as it began the agency started moving beyond its original purpose and mandate and expanded into an environmental Gestapo. Serial Democrat congresses exacerbated the problem by sticking their noses into issues over which they should never have had any influence, automobile fleet design and production mandates for example. At this point eliminating the agency altogether is probably the only solution. Same with the IRS, DOE, and a few other agencies which are somehow unmentioned in the Constitution.
