TY. I actually enjoyed doing it. I really did not expect to find any anomaly at all. This announcement thing was only a part of what we found. “WE” being the volunteers I badgered into to helping me. :)
I’ve said for 8.5 years that the Birth Index needs to be found. Granted, it’s easy to forge since pages are removable but it’s original, handwritten and cross referenced. It is the index for the BCs. Any deviation in the pages themselves, the handwriting and the ink used is a huge tell. Since the clerk’s office would employ a handful of clerks, the forgers would need to have the same number proficient in forgery to pass handwriting analysis. It’s doable but more involved than merely copy/paste a BC and fake a newspaper birth announcement.
