There’s been a belly-dancing class at one community college — (no, I didn’t try it. Ha!)
Thanks to that one class, I have made wine my official "hobby", and it's a subject that you can never learn too much.
It's the kind of activity that I can do solo, or with wife & family. For example, we both love Fredericksburg: my wife loves the shops, I like the 3-4 wine bars in the area. We're both happy.
We've also discovered Lubbock/Texas High Plains AVA. Whenever we go to El Paso (wife's family) we take a two hour detour from I-20 to visit the Llano Estacado winery south of Lubbock. They're very welcoming, and you can replenish your wine inventory at very reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised that my wife bought 3 bottles last weekend (I stayed home on this trip)...she never does that. She spent her money wisely.
