Good evening, radu....she did take us to lunch at the Olive Garden. d:o)
Busy day...homework, but hopefully a jump start on tomorrow.
Pea soup fog all day. Right now I can actually see across the street. They say streets are VERY slippery. Getting ready to tiptoe home.

Aaaaah! Buttering y’all up for the extra work load getting ready to be dumped on you. LOL!
That was really nice of her. Maybe it won’t be so bad having her there all week. :-)
I saw the fog earlier today and it’s still pretty thick at higher levels. Can’t see anything from the Denali Towers cam. Yeah, freezing fog that thick is going to make the road slick as heck. Be careful on the drive home!

Hiya radu!
Did a bit of Christmas shopping this AM, no crowds today! Just got back from son's place where I was given the dog-sitting instructions for starting on Wednesday.
Still very cold here, maybe some more snow this week.
Howz things your way?

Howdy there, PRO!
Yay for no crowds this morning! Makes shopping soooooo much more enjoyable. Fighting through a crush of people takes the fun out of Christmas shopping, though some seem to enjoy it. (8-0
Not too cold here today but it’s gotten chilly since sunset. We have a couple of cold days coming up but at least there isn’t anything wet coming with it. No rain until the weekend and we’ll be in the 50s again by then.
Our turn for frozen stuff will come up all too soon to suit us but it’s not here yet. LOL

I safely made it home, but, man, were the intersections slick. Coming up to the corner of my parking lot and the signal that starts me on my way home was a 4 car accident.
Something I surely don’t need now.
Mom is feed, I’ve found all the things she either misplaced or knocked off the bed table, and chatted a bit.
Now a bit of FR and then homework.

Glad you made it home! Sounds like the roads are pretty nasty tonight but you got lucky and avoided getting caught up in any wrecks.
Be careful going to work in the morning. That fog is hanging in there and adding more ice to the roads. Dang it!

Living in the Light
December 14, 2016
The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.
1 John 2:8
It was a dark morning. Low, steel-colored clouds filled the sky, and the atmosphere was so dim that I needed to turn on the lights in order to read a book. I had just settled in when the room suddenly filled with light. I looked up and saw that the wind was pushing the clouds to the east, clearing the sky and revealing the sun.
As I went to the window to get a better look at the drama, a thought came to mind: The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining (1 John 2:8). The apostle John wrote these words to believers as a message of encouragement. He went on to say, Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble (v. 10). By contrast, he equated hating people with roaming around in darkness. Hatred is disorienting; it takes away our sense of moral direction.
Loving people is not always easy. Yet I was reminded as I looked out the window that frustration, forgiveness, and faithfulness are all part of maintaining a deep connection with the love and light of God. When we choose love instead of hate, we are showing our relationship with Him and reflecting His radiance to the world around us. God is light; in him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).
Dear God, help me to experience Your love more fully so that I can share it with others. I want to live in the light of Your grace and mercy.
Choosing to love people well shows the world what God is like.
Todays passage has perplexed many believers. Is John teaching that if we have any hatred in our hearts, then we are not genuine believers? It is very important to understand a concept in Greek grammar in order to capture what the passage is saying. The verb tense used here means continuous action in the present. This means the verb could be paraphrased continually hating. Therefore, when John speaks of someone hating, he is talking about an unrepentant lifestyle of continuously living in hatred toward another. The authentic walk of faith is not a sinless walk, but one in which the believer feels uncomfortable with sin and reaches out to God for forgiveness and change.
