Canada follows quickly in the steps of the former Soviet Union which made all children the wards of a mystical mother/father state, itself the temporal representation of the world soul.

Just because it is the law, does not make the law Just.
That all just makes children de jure wards of the state. Every childbirth will come with a folder of instructions for the caretakers on what they are permitted to do with the child and what is forbidden. Eventually each childbirth will be attended by agents of the state who will decide who will care for the child. Space permitting the baby will be taken immediately to a government creche. It won’t last terribly long. Childbirth will rapidly decline to zero among the traditional European derived Canadian population and the Moslems will have their babies outside of public facilities and their pregnancies will be attended by doctors and unofficial midwives who don’t report the condition. As in the USA this is what is desired by the PTB who think they are looking at the long game but can’t seem to understand that when the population is majority third world and or Moslem their own hegemony will end.
This is also in the ABA’s model family code which is adopted by states.
Chattel? Liberty, in the history of Man, is but fleeting. Slavery\ownership has been the norm.
We in the U.S.A. like to think ourselves above the same, but there are marbled halls with walls and reams of ‘law’ making one the ‘care-giver’ of another (welfare, social programs/constructs, taxes). Yes, antithesis to our Founding a/o Constitution, but still the ‘law’ for over 100 yrs.
Many times I have wondered when/where the next flare-up will occur. I doubt any will be nearly as revolutionary as our own.
