There have been odd comments here.
The Secy of State does not create US foreign policy. He discusses it with the President and his staff and then executes what the President decides. So there would not seem to be any reason to oppose this nomination of a competent manager.
Note also that Russia is and has been for some time the #1 producer of oil. Period. He knows them for that reason, and that reason will remain overwhelmingly important for as far forward as can be seen.
so how will he be confirmed by the Senate?
Send McLame to Vietnam and Rubio to some dreadful South American country.
