“and when they do...they look for value”
Value is more than just cheapest to the n-th degree. I walk through Walmart now and all I see is aisle after aisle of the absolutely cheapest foreign garbage.
There is room for a retailer who reaches out to the people who put Trump in office and moves even slightly away from the Target/Walmart level of crap.

I still wear a few clothes I bought at Wal Mart about 10-15 years ago. Then I have clothes from a brand name store which wore out after a few years. I admit I did not wear them a lot. I shop online now. I have found a few stores which have good clothes at a reasonable prices. I am not one to brag about how much I pay for clothes. That reminds me of my granddaughter. She went to a fancy party. Afterwards, everyone was told they could have the leftover fruit and chocolate fountain. She went to get some and this ole lady told her that she could afford to buy it because of the clothes she wore. Well, my gd stood tall and informed the busy body that everything she had on cost a little over $68. She had gone to a used clothes store, bought everything including her shoes. She then walked away.
