Sad truth is that EVERYONE in the public eye receives death threats.

Back in the early '80s some friends and I put out a conservative paper at U of Chicago that was a little more pugnacious than the mild "Midway Review" that was supposed to pass for the conservative alternative paper.

My interview with Joe Scheidler in the paper earned me vicious calls to my dorm room. The callers didn't know that I was staying a t friend's apartment while he was out of state. Anyway, the caller would ask for me by my first name, "and I happened to have a lefty roommate with the same first name, so HE received the barrage of cuss words and threats. I never heard them first hand, but I had received death threats for my pro-life articles. A classmate who poked fun at the homo-GALA organization received "gay rape" threats. You cannot make this stuff up!
