A federal judge who ordered Michigan to begin its recount effectively ended it on Wednesday, tying his decision to a state court ruling that found Green Party candidate Jill Stein had no legal standing to request another look at ballots.
The ruling seals Republican Donald Trumps narrow victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton for Michigans 16 electoral votes.
U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith agreed with Republicans who argued that the three-day recount must end a day after the state appeals court dealt a blow to the effort. The court said Stein, who finished fourth in Michigan on Nov. 8, didnt have a chance of winning even after a recount and therefore isnt an aggrieved candidate.

Very good news. But the article says Stein can (will probably) appeal to the Michigan Supreme Court....so it doesn’t seem to be totally over yet.
suck it, jill. your 15 minutes of fame are quickly coming to an end.
Michigan SC is 5-2 conservative.
OH - that is extremely good news - thank you!
It’s over...really it IS over!
Narrow victory...bah! Why the MSM is not trusted.
Hallelujah!
Someone probably also decided it was going to reveal too much corruption and ugliness in Detroit voting
I can’t believe it has taken this long to get this dismissed when it was obvious she had no standing. Think of all the times Obama’s lawyers had every ‘Natural Born’ lawsuit immediately thrown out on this very same issue.
Someone please stop this...I don’t know if I can take any more winning.
The idiot dickweeds are finished. Let the lefty suicides commence.
And add to that, Trump's positive approval numbers are now at 50% and he hasn't even been sworn in yet!
The current lame stream media narrative is “Narrow Victory” “Razor Thin Margin” “Loss in Popular Vote” etc etc etc.... Its subtle influencing.
Narrow victory?
A 10,000 vote margin is impressive.
AP makes it sound like a win of a few hundred votes.
MI isn’t FL in 2000.
Particularly for GOP candidates after the 1988 election. Closest they have been in MI since is 160K votes, most much more than that.
If the recount had proceeded, it would have actually increased Trump’s margin of win.
Its not like it would have changed the election outcome as AP falsely implies.
The GOP and the Trump campaign wanted to end it, not because they were afraid of what a recount might come up with but because taxpayers would be on the hook for a needless verification exercise.
That was not warranted. And the court agreed with that view.
When it came out that three hundred precincts in the Detroit area...had poll books and ballot numbers that didn’t equal...it was opening up a big ugly mess. If it’d been five or ten...people could write it off as just a little mistake/problem. But three-hundred-plus?
