Everyone gets a social security card and number at birth, so there is a structure for identification in place that might be tweaked. Maybe you get a new ss card when you are 18 years old, perhaps with a magnetic strip and a voter credit that is activated for each Federal election. Like a gift credit on a credit card, once it is used, it is gone until the next election. Would need some thinking, but surely if we can make driverless cars and satellites and go to the moon, we should be able to devise a system of some sort that is almost fool-proof?

Make every voter go through e-verify. Make every Drivers License application have to be validated by e-verify. When renewing in Florida, you have to bring proof of who you are.

This is not fool-proof but it is a start but still, the e-veify bolstered and properly administered will weed them out. As one has said above, the biggest problem after that is inside the precincts as the recount has shown in Detroit. I saw this gaping hole when I was a Poll Worker in the previous two elections and a Poll Watcher in the two prior to that. I know the local Supervisor of Elections personally and he is very aware of what can happen and is happening when we see precincts that are ALWAYS late in reporting. Does Broward and Palm Beach Counties ring a bell?
There is no Federal election. That term needs to banished from this forumn. There are only state and local elections. There are state elections for federal offices and there is state election to appoint representatives formthe fedral office of president.
