Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Wednesday pressured President-elect Donald Trump to continue the Obama administration program shielding young undocumented immigrants from deportation.
ADVERTISEMENT During a private meeting at Trump Tower, Emanuel handed Trump a letter signed by more than a dozen mayors urging him not to follow through on his campaign pledge to scrap the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
All of us fundamentally believe that these are students, these are also people who want to join the armed forces, they gave their name, their address, their phone number, where they are, they're trying to achieve the American Dream," Emanuel, President Obamas former top White House aide, told reporters after the meeting.

So a tutu wearing male ballerina is proposing immigration policy?
I hope Trump rolled the letter and told Rahm to bend over
I doubt that he will deport these people.
I fully expect him to build a physical barrier on the border, and I fully expect him to aggressively deport felons, and I expect he will allow the immigration agents to do their jobs aggressively.
If he will just do what he has said he will do, this problem will be largely resolved by the time he leaves office.
Because making Rham happy is job one for Donald Trump

These ‘snowflakes’ would run after the first hour at Parris Island for training...who are you people in Chi town trying to kid???
Deferred Action means they were deferring their deportation, which is what the law says is supposed to happen to illegal aliens.
There should be no accommodation made for illegal aliens.
Changing laws to suit those breaking them is always bad policy.
No, just doing that will leave 20-30 million Democrat voters here to permanently change our country—both by dragging it down in costs and skill level and pulling us inescapably to the left.
Illegal aliens cannot join the military.
The law is only citizens and green card holders can join.
They want to get them legalized by any means.
Sure this punk pressured Trump. I cannot wait for this turd to reach the dust bin of history. Obviously, he has a ‘black lives matter’ problem in Chicago... but hey so long as they are killing each other, no problem. Wonder what Rams take is in the drug trade?
How about that.
“Keep these future Rat party agitators so we can train em up to murder Republicans in the streets like we did in San Jose”
Whoda thunkit
Ha...Trump just got a list sanctuary cities to attend to first
Thanks for your input Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel....have a nice day.
They all need to go. Sure, prioritize who leaves in what order, must build the wall fast to prevent easy return, but in the end, all are law breakers and must go. Doesn’t matter if these are Chinese, Mexican, various Africans, all must go. Then, all the mooselimbs who are not citizens - they have to go also.
“...Emanuel pressures Trump...”
No...Emanuel ASKS Trump....
I don’t think anyone “pressures” Trump....
“Changing laws to suit those breaking them is always bad policy.”
The problem is that the laws haven’t changed, just the lack of enforcement. But the lack of enforcement has created a problem that will not be easily solved. So for openers, we need to stop the entry of still more “dreamers,” and we need to figure out how to deal more effectively with the countries from which these people a coming.
And in return, Trump handed back statistics on the murders rate in Chicago followed by a question: What the F dude?
Emmanuel, sanctuary criminal,has no standing
How about “Fat Chance” Criminal Mayor Emanuel.
SCREW YOU RAHM-BO and the horse you rode in on.
