Fire protection is so dull, so square, so un-artistic. In a way it is a buzzkill to the artist. The very possibility that it and the artist might burn to the ground is part of art for art’s sake. Why in the world is there even an event called Burning Man (mentioning it because it is a reflection on such a mindset).

But anyhow, the artists would be smart to hire a non-artist to take care of these square things.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I went to Burning Man this year to bring our daughter’s utility trailer home at the close of the event. And while it’s not something I’d want to spend a week at, it is nothing like this warehouse business. And BTW, our daughter lives in Oakland, and knew some of those who died in the fire.

Arrogance + Ignorance can = Death. I guess that fire doesn't respect those safe spaces.
