"Now that Craftsman tools are made in China,..."
I didn't know that. That's a shame.

It is a shame. For example, Stanly Tools have been made in China for some time. The factories that employed these workmen are long gone. A crying shame.
Beginning in 2010, hand tools manufactured for Craftsman by Apex Tool Group such as ratchets, sockets, and wrenches began being produced overseas (mainly in China although some are produced in Taiwan), while tools produced for Craftsman by Western Forge such as adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and larger mechanic tool sets remain made in the United States.

A bought an extra Craftsman socket set on sale a couple years ago. The chrome had a sort of brown tinge. They rusted on the outside the first time they got wet! Not the type of light rust you just rub off. This was permanent. I've got sets from 30 years ago that are still nice bright chrome and some of them have gotten wet and never rusted.
