We had a case in my law office where the father, a German citizen, was trying to get custody of his daughter, about four years old at the time. The mother was an American citizen. There was also a photo of the mother’s boyfriend with his penis exposed right next to the child when she was an infant.
We fought for years, Hague Convention stuff, appeals, and it went nowhere. The father was not allowed to have his daughter, not even visitation, and nothing happened to the guy in the picture.
I spoke to the father a few years ago and asked him how his daughter turned out. He said all he knew was she was all tatted up, wouldn’t speak with him. She had not only been abused, but thoroughly indoctrinated against him.
It was very sad.
