Business doesn’t really even pay any corporate tax right now. Every bit of it is passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices.
Which hurts their competitiveness. It puts American companies at a disadvantage to companies that have lower overhead (including taxes) who then don’t have to sell at higher prices.
That has always been true which is why it is useful to everyone to cut corporate taxes
