It's not just Romney. It's the entire Republican Party. They've been unfairly tagged as a bunch of billionaires when it's really the billionaires that are backing the Democrats.
Romney's biggest mistake was not selling the message that it's good to be rich and you too, can be rich as well and I'm going to help you do it through policy. Why would anybody want to be poor?

That's what this country is all about.

He couldn't pull that off because
1) Everybody would know he was lying and
2) Neither he or Ryan would have the slightest idea how to do it even if they wanted to...which they didn't.
