Was the window up or down with Joe McKnight outside the vehicle’s passenger door? If the window was down, and vigorous conversation ensued without any attempt to enter the vehicle, that’s one thing. Powder burn pattern will give an indication of how far McKnight was from the muzzle of the weapon. Ballistic trajectory will give attitude of the body relative to the weapon.

If the window were shattered by McKnight to gain entry to the vehicle, that is evidence of heightened aggression, possibly rage. If shots were fired through a raised window hitting McKnight, that goes against the driver. It’s all part of the physical evidence supporting or contradicting statements by the shooter and witnesses.

Apparently the window was down. A driver belted into his seat is very vulnerable to someone next to the vehicle. Getting out of one's car and approaching the other is the only indication of aggression I need.

It is not an indicator of a desire to calmly discuss things.
