I had some significant concerns about Mattis. I still do.

I’m glad he’s SecDef and not Sec of State. Those are foreign policy positions, and my concerns were mostly in those areas. He’ll not set policy as SecDef. He’ll execute it.

Not a fan of what he did to the Haditha Marines and Sgt Wuterich. Those guys simply fought the way his “I didn’t bring artillery” quote claims he would. He went out of his way to screw them.
And don’t like his pro Palestinian 2 state and stop settlements position.... but that said he is orders of magnitude better than any revolutionary socialist pervert Hillary or Obama would place there.

Mattis tends in a counter-Israel direction, and I don’t like that.

He also is a systemite, in that he supported the establishment witch hunt against the Haditha Marines and even got caught engaging in Unlawful Command Influence in the trial to help the media get a scalp from one of those Marines.

I will not be surprised to discover that he will not promote rolling back the homosexual offensive in the social experimentation directed against the US military.

But, being fair, that is really the responsibility of Congress. I don’t expect them to touch it at all.

I think he would be very good in a war situation. But every general out there now has the neocon nationbuilding and interventionist disease. They simply wouldn’t have been selected to those levels in the Bush and Obama administrations if they didn’t.
