In my opinion, nothing about Santa Claus (St. Nicholas ??) in present-day America suggests commemorating or celebrating the birth of Jesus, the Christ, the Very Son of God.

Freeper responses welcomed.

True.

First we get kids to believe in the tooth fairy. They outgrow that quickly. Then we get kids to believe in Santa Claus, which takes years to outgrow. Then when we tell them the truth of the gospel, the kids think to themselves, "sure I'll play along for a while."
