A little analysis on the claim that Democrats got more Senate votes.

According to Wikipedia, Republican Senate candidates got 39.3 million votes and Democrats got 45.2 million. However this margin is entirely due to California where the only choices were two Democrats who got a combined 11.9 million votes.

If California had a Republican and Democratic option, and voters voted for those options in the same way as they voted for president, the Democrat would have gotten 8.5 million votes, and the Republican would have gotten 4.3 million. This would mean an overall Senate popular vote of:

All Republicans Senate candidates: 43.6 million
All Democrat Senate candidates: 41.7 million

Warren's claim of a mandate for Democrats also don't hold up when you look at the popular vote for the House, which Republicans won 49.9% to 47.3%.

Definitely have one party rule here in California. Democrats get 102% of the vote (counting illegal votes too).
