But honestly, the turnout from the younger groups strikes me as unreliable

The last three times, that I know of, that young voters really turned out to vote, they were voting for JFK, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton got more youth votes than even the latest Democrat Messiah, Barrack Obama. The reason for Obama's huge success in 2008, was because many stupid middle-Republicans actually believed that if they elected the first black President, the Liberal left would finally stop with the B.S. "RACIST" claims. That will never end, until Republicans stop treating blacks like they are different than whites, when it comes to politics. Most voters want something for nothing - black, white, or green - PERIOD!!

But, if you can convince the voters that you are going to help EVERYONE, not just your own party, AND you can show that you are fighting AGAINST the old, political system then the youth will come out and vote for you! In recent memory, NO sitting President has won the same youth vote levels as they did during their first run for office, because USUALLY the youth have now seen that the person for whom they first voted are NOT fighting against the old system, but settling in and become comfortable with he ooze and slime!

People forget that as time progresses, generational groups have historically moved rightward. Lost Generation voters who supported FDR and Truman later voted in a Republican congress in 1946 and 1948 and later Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956. The GI (Greatest) Generation that supported Kennedy and Johnson in 1960 and 1964 later turned around to vote for Nixon and Reagan. Baby Boomers who supported Bill Clinton later voted for the younger Bush and Trump. The fact that the Millennials are more brainwashed than their predecessors is a problem. However, they will have to face the realities of work and finances as did their predecessors.
