Each Congress chooses their Speaker, a new one is sworn in January. But yeah, Republicans are pretty stupid too. In fact, large swaths of them differ from Dems only in method, “we can do it better”.
We’ll see. I think it’s about 90-10 that Ryan will return as speaker.
