Reasonable assumption but hard to know what’s up.
Everything seems in flux for the House Dems.
I expect Pelosi to win and continue her divisive ‘Identity Politics’ strategy.

Another Rollcall article:
“The chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus has indicated that there are divisions over who members support in the contested election for minority leader between veteran California Democrat Nancy Pelosi and Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan.”

While pundits were gleefully describing the woes of the Republican Party leading up to the election, they admitted afterwards that the Democrats are the party with the larger problem - and having the special interest ethnic groups is a big one. Can they win nationally without a non-white on the ticket going forward? Maybe, considering Hillary won the popular vote (just in the wrong states), but she ran against someone who was seriously damaged by media attacks non-stop leading up to the election itself. In any case, disenchanted blacks played a large role in denying her the White House, and (obviously) she really needed them.
