Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin is emerging as President-elect Donald Trump's leading contender for interior secretary, three people close to Trump's transition team told POLITICO.
An advocate of oil and gas development, Fallin signed a bill last year that would prevent Oklahoma cites from enacting bans on drilling.
Fallin is a staunch critic of the Obama administration's climate change regulations for power plants. She signed an executive order last year saying that her state will not comply with the rules.

I wonder if Palin is going to have a gig in the Trump administration.
EPA would be a hoot.
Palin would be a better choice, if only because pictures of her hunting accomplishments would melt lots of snowflakes.
That would be fun.
OMG...my young relatives are in for the surprise of their lives! (One hates TRUMP sooooo much because he’s such a “misogynist “)
She’d better!!
Speakibg as a pro-Palin Alaskan who supported her in office and her VP run ( certainly would not have voted for McCain without her, I am still troubled by her quitting as the Alaskan Govenor. Not so much that she quit the job but the way she portrayed the decision was made by asking her children. My feeling was that it was flip.
She is an effective spokeswoman for the conservatism and support for conservatives running for or in office.
I’m going out on a limb and saying this is a great, GREAT call.
In my opinion, Trump is potentially the most conservative we’ve seen among all the GOP candidates of 2016. He’s exceeding my expectations. He’s elevating women in ways Hillary would never have done.
I’m so proud of this guy. He may not select a cabinet that I would approve 100 percent, but, hell, the woman I married, the love of my life, would not be able to do that, either.
I am so tired. Of WINNING!
Already.
Heads exploding over at Politico, source of this post. She makes quakes, they say. Oh, and they also earn a kajillion dollars a day at home.
Winning. Making me dizzy.
Sarah Palin was the head of Alaska’s Oil and Gas Commission.
Trump mentioned her as a possible choice for Secretary of Energy in the summer of 2015 when he was starting his run to The White House.
Lately, though, former Texas governor Rick Perry’s name has been mentioned for the position of Energy Secretary.
I am an Okie who has met Fallon on a couple of occasions at banquets when she was Lt. Governor. She will be fine and organized. I would expect a workmanlike job that is pro-energy and reasonable with genuine environmental issues.
She is ridiculed as “not smart” by the few Dims left in Oklahoma. There might be some merit to their allegations, but all in all, she is a solid choice. If she makes Dims unhappy, all the better.
Fallin sounds solid for Interior and Perry for energy, but I’d really love for it to be Palin who straightens out the BLM (as in land management). EPA? That needs a grizzly to straighten it out or end it.
I’m an Okie who hasn’t voted for a rat in over 40 yrs. I’ve held my nose and voted for Fallin at least 3 times. The only positive thing about her is she’s not a rat. I have mixed emotions about this. She’s worthless, but at least we’d be rid of her and I like the Lt Governor who would replace her.
Btw-why is Trump considering a loser like Romney, someone who can’t handle secrets like Petraus and an adultress like Fallin? I thought he was going to drain the swamp.
Perfect graphic and impressive rapid response! Priceless expression on Sarah’s face.
Why did the moderator remove it?
I don’t have any idea. I sure enjoyed it, though.
She must be a WINO...Woman In Name only, to work for Trump! < /sarc >
