I have to disagree. Petraeus pled guilty to a charge of mishandling classified information, albeit a misdemeanor charge. (I can assure you that none of us, under the same circumstances, would have been given that opportunity. Sound familiar?)
According to court records, “Three days before he switched careers [retired from the Army to become Director of the CIA], Petraeus gave Broadwell eight notebooks hed compiled that contained highly classified information and other secrets, including the identities of covert officers, intelligence capabilities, quotes from high-level meetings of the National Security Council, and notes about Petraeuss discussions with President Obama.”
While Petraeus’ actions may differ from those of Hillary Clinton in magnitude, the essence of the offense is exactly the same; he gave highly-classified information to a person without a Need to Know. Couple that with the fact that Petraeus is a cheating slimeball and one of the most political general officers the Army has ever known and I would submit that he shouldn’t be anywhere near any classified information ever again.
Tough call. He’d be on a short chain with Trump.
Clearly, Romney brings nothing to the table. Ok, maybe he’s on aboard with tougher trade negotiations with China and Mexico. He’s clean, but his judgment on going after Trump personally just sticks in side. Why did he do that? I mean why?
Rudy, strikes me as weak choice too, although he’d be loyal to Trump.
I think with Trump you want people who can carry the ball. I’m not sure Rudy is up to the task.
Petraeus has the contacts.
Inspite of the negatives, I think Petraeus the best pick.
